IPL Photofacial

An IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) photofacial is a non-invasive skin treatment that uses broad-spectrum light to target various skin issues. It's commonly used for:

  • Reducing hyperpigmentation and age spots
  • Minimizing redness and broken capillaries
  • Improving overall skin tone and texture
  • Treating acne

Here’s an outline of the IPL treatment process:

1. Preparation

  • Our aesthetic technician will cleanse your skin to remove any makeup, oils, or impurities. It is better if you wash your face before this step, as the cleansing will be much better after face wash.
  • A cool gel is applied to the skin to help conduct the light pulses and keep the skin comfortable.
  • A  protective eyewear to shield will be put to your eyes to protect  your eyes from the light.

2. Light Pulses

  • The IPL device probe is pressed gently against the skin, delivering pulses of broad-spectrum light to the targeted areas. The energy is chosen as per your skin type and the condition to be treated. The Ipl has many filters which can be changed as per the condition to be treated.
  • The light penetrates the skin, heating the pigmented cells and blood vessels without harming the surrounding tissue. You can actually feel a flash of light.
  • You might feel a mild stinging sensation, similar to the snap of a rubber band, but it’s generally tolerable.

3. Aftercare

  • After the procedure, a soothing lotion or cold compress may be applied to reduce any discomfort caused by the procedure.
  • Mild redness and swelling are common but usually subside within a few hours to a day. However, majority of our patients are good to go back to work.
  • Sunscreen is essential post-treatment to protect your skin, as it becomes more sensitive to sunlight. The right quantity of sunscreen and method of application is important. Feel free to discuss with your dermatologist in case if you have any queries.
